Sometimes the weather is a complement to a conversation, sometimes it is an introduction. During the residency- project A.i.R Innan Luften Går Ur 2019-2020 I met Lena Simonsson, a weather observer for SMHI (the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute). She is observing the weather in Gustavsfors, Värmland. Based upon that meeting with Lena I created the weather-sensitive sculpture Anticyklon/Cyklon.

Sometimes the relationship between the anticyclone and cyclone is described as a struggle where one "breaks down" and the other "resists". Rather, it seems to be a collaboration between them. Where the majority of anticyclones is dependent on cyclones both for its origin and continued existence.

“The weather is a warning, a tool, a feeling. The weather puts places on the map.”
